Eating low carbohydrate foods or the low carb diet is still around. If you look at the way the media focuses on celebrities it is easy to see why. Now these celebrities that say that they are just made that way may need to wake and smell the coffee. You do not stay thin if you eat everything in sight it is just not possible.
Eating low carbohydrate foods is like anything else. Do you homework and see what works for you. There are several sites and doctors that will not approve of a low carbohydrate diet but there still is no evidence that low carbohydrate foods are bad for you. You still need to be careful and make sure your body is getting enough carbohydrates.
Here are some examples of low carbohydrate foods. Eggs are a great source of low carbohydrate foods. If you want you remove the yolk to make the egg even healthier, and remember do not be afraid to add anything to your eggs when cooking, as I like to say spice it up.
Most meat is a great source especially fish. If you were to look at the Chinese or Japanese for example you do not see too many of them overweight. Yes you can even eat bacon, steak, lamb and veal for example. There are several choices to choose from when eating meat.
Salads and vegetables are also great low carbohydrate foods. There are several vegetables that are a little higher in carbs but if eaten in moderation if would be fine. Some examples of vegetables are alfalfa sprouts, celery, cucumbers, mushrooms, parsley and peppers just to name a few. There are some higher carbohydrate vegetables and they are asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, peas and spinach. Spinach can be very healthy when used as a garnish for your salad.
One of the main arguments of eating low carbohydrate foods is that there can be health risks. I feel though unless you are using this diet to an extreme that it would cause any health concerns. Anything used to an extreme can be unhealthy but this is by no means an excuse to get rid of carbohydrates all together. Although you may see some weight loss your body will start to take the stored fat and you will find that you no energy at all or worse become sick.
The one thing to remember is not to become engrossed by what you eat. If you are not sure of the carbohydrates for something you might just be better off to eat it. Do not and I say do not become obsessed with what you eat.
Did You Know
That for every meal you should sit at the table with slow music playing. You should make up a playlist on your mp3 player or listen to a CD. Whatever you do, make sure to get that music playing. It really does make a difference in how quickly you eat. This is very important because slow music slows your appetite.
