If you are finding that you just can’t seem to keep yourself on the straight and narrow low carb diet then maybe it is time for a change. The low carb food diet has been an issue since its inception by Dr. Atkins in the 1970’s.
There can although be a huge balance between the two. Researchers have yet to show refutable evidence that a low carb diet yet alone a high carb diet is detrimental to your health. Researchers have been trying to find the link that causes a person to gain weight. The answer is simple. It is calorie intake.
The Atkins diet works because although you are consuming large amounts of high fat, high protein foods you are also only eating low carbohydrates. The reason this diet works is because you are consuming less calories. When nutritionists and scientists first saw this diet they could not explain the weight loss which is why people panic. Something that is not explainable is not good in our society.
The high carb food diet will also work but can be more detrimental in the long run. The old adage that we are what we eat is a great example of that. If you look at today’s society and the average weight of a person, most people are overweight to some extreme. Some are more overweight than others.
Again though this all comes back to calorie intake. If a person states that they eat only once or twice a day but their calorie intake is around 3500 calories then you are going to gain weight. The problem is here is that you are not supposed to eat too much and you are not supposed to eat too little.
Recent studies have shown that people who had heart issues were more likely to have the heart issue come from the fatty foods they ate. This meant that people who ate more plants were almost 30% less likely to get heart failure than people who got their fatty intake from animals.
The problem is not what we eat but with how much we eat. Fatty foods are fatty foods and there sometimes is no way around them but eating healthy diet not just carbohydrates is essential in living a longer life.
