
If you ever wanted to lose weight and found yourself pounding your head at all the unhealthy diets out then you are not alone. When the Atkins low carb diet was released in the 70’s it cause a big stir because someone was defying the natural food chart for Americans.
Probably the essential mistake that Dr. Atkins made was that you could eat as many calories as you like by cutting out all carbohydrates and still lose weight. What he was saying is that go ahead and eat steak and eggs fried of course for dinner every night and you will still lose weight. This definitely seems a contradiction later in time when Dr. Atkins wrote that you should not gorge yourself. This was not stated in the early writing of Dr. Atkins where he said eat everything you can.
Probably the biggest thing wrong with the low carb diet foods is that you are not supposed to eat white flour or sugar but that you also are not able to eat any grains. This is where moderation can come in to play. If you are trying to obtain a certain weight then you are not on a diet. You are on a weight maintenance program. If you feel that your food can handle things like sugar, whole wheat grains and bananas then eat them. There is no proof that if you eat these along with your diet that you will gain weight. The only way to be sure is to monitor yourself when you start the eat them.
In recent years low carb diet foods have said that most carbohydrates are restricted now as before it was said that they were not allowed at all. When diets come out people always take things to the extreme. Even though something or someone states that something is bad it does not mean that you are not able to do it. This is where the general couple comes into play. As a society we always seem to take everything to the extreme. Try out what you like if it does not work then try something else.
As is the case with most diet foods everything should be taken with a grain of salt. If you start eating low carb diet foods and find that you do not have a lot of energy then you need to take a look at what you are eating. Like anything else monitor what works and what doesn’t.
