
One of the main arguments that scientists are still trying to prove is that if you eat a high protein, high fat foods diet that are low on carbohydrates that you will be at risk with heart disease.
Scientific studies have proven that although you are eating high protein, high fatty foods and low carbohydrates that you are still eating less calories. Probably the thing that set off this fight with low and high carb foods was the claim that you could eat all the low carbohydrate foods that you want and still lose weight. This could be the case but scientist will always want to counter that thought as they do not know where the extra food is going.
The definition of low carbs does not mean the elimination of carbohydrates all together. Low carb food diets state that they do not want you to eat high carb foods such as bread, certain fruits and sugar. It does not state that you should not eat them it just states that they should be restricted or monitored.
The high carb foods list is just the opposite. It states that you can eat all the bread and sugar you want just in moderation. Included in that list of foods are the normal carbohydrate foods.
Studies have shown though that there is no higher risk of heart disease in either group. There was however a less risk of heart disease from people that obtained their fat source from plants than people who obtained their fat source from animals.
There is one thing missing from the conclusion whether low carb foods are better than high carb foods and that is exercise. Of all the studies that have been completed no one is looking at the average female or male that is regularly exercising while being on these diets. Without a regular exercise regimen you are just fooling yourself into thinking that you are healthy.
The reason for higher heart risk is that although you may think that you are eating healthy, without regular exercise you are not helping your body at all.
